Mikhael Antone is a filmmaker and visual artist. Born 1975 in Rhode Island. She recieved a BA from Salve Regina University in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography and an MFA in Video & Photography from School of Visual Arts. She has exhibited and screened her own work in New York at Anthology Film Archives, Void, Remote Lounge, BAM Rose cinemas, Praxis Collective, Studio 150, College of Staten Island, and Lumen Waterfront Video Festival. Her work has also been shown throughout the United States and in Mexico City.
While at the School of Visual Arts, Ms. Antone received the Aaron Siskind Award and has received a Council for the Arts and Humanities of Staten Island Premier Grant funded through NYSCA and a NY Department of Cultural Affairs Grant for her documentary film To a Man about white suburban middle class young men from Staten Island’s South Shore. As a Professor of Imaging and Photography, in the Visual Communication and Design Department at Indiana University- Purdue University Fort Wayne mikhael developed her project Sense of Place. This project has been has three solo exhibitions throughout the United States. Mikhael currently resides in Staten Island, NY.
